Luck of the Draw
2016
Prospectors headed for the Klondike had varying levels of applicable skills, knowledge and preparation, but ultimately luck was the major variable determining prosperity and survival. Consider the chances of any gold seeker, such as the two pictured, and how much the intangible factors of luck, hope, and even delusion propelled the hard work of every physical step along the way. Materials in this assemblage include three book covers, a wood box for a sharpening stone, the painted wishbone of a chicken, historic photograph, book pages, wire, rivets and rhinestones.
