Women & Soldiers are Anonymous 4: PHANTOM FLOWERS
2016
This is an ongoing series started in 2009 utilizing historic photographs of unidentified women and soldiers. Each face symbolizes a lifetime forgotten. The compositions contemplate their identity and lost context. The title "Phantom Flowers" references the fantom pains that torment soldiers. The composition includes a hand-embroidered original WWII battle dressing box and photograph of an unidentified soldier. Additional materials include metal rivets and wood.
