“Sitka Blacktail: Late August” is composed of found fabrics, including antique crewelwork, hand tailored with thread over batting onto a life size taxidermy form. The antlers are authentic blacktail deer antlers. The nose is painted air dry clay and the eyes are taxidermy-grade glass. Mount is Life-size.
This piece was purchased by the Alaska State Council on the Arts to be included in the Alaska Contemporary Art Bank, an art lending program to government facilities across the state.
